AI in Business

“We bring people and AI together in the enterprise – from digital readiness to an AI-integrated organization.”

THE TYPICAL STARTING POINT

Many organizations have introduced artificial intelligence (AI) as a central building block of their digital transformation, yet little changes in day-to-day work. The reason is rarely technology alone. More often, the organization, its leaders, and its workforce are not yet prepared for the change. AI transformation is not a tool rollout – it changes value creation, the organization, leadership, and peoples‘ roles at the same time. Breitenstein supports clients at precisely this intersection, in both the mid-sized business sector and the public sector.

We support companies in implementing AI across the enterprise, with a focus on organization, leadership, and people.

WHAT WE MEAN BY THIS

AI in the enterprise cannot be addressed in isolated stages: strategy, organization, leadership, people, and culture all work together. Our maturity assessment makes these interdependencies visible. We support mid-sized businesses and public-sector organizations from taking stock of their current position to embedding AI sustainably in everyday work.

OUR APPROACH

Step by step to an AI-integrated organization

How does AI move from a pilot project into everyday work? We support AI transformation in four steps – from an honest assessment of the current situation to established practice.

1 | Assess: AI Maturity Check
We assess maturity across strategy, digital foundations, organization, leadership, capabilities, and culture. The result is a roadmap for the next meaningful step.
2 | Align: Target State And Priorities
We develop a future vision with your leadership team that can accommodate multiple scenarios – from efficiency gains to hybrid collaboration between people and AI agents. Based on this vision, we prioritize the value drivers with the greatest potential impact.
3 | Test: Use Cases In Real Work
Customer value and day-to-day work reality guide the selection of use cases. We assess what is realistically required to unlock the potential of AI and support the resulting changes in roles, processes, and collaboration.
4 | Embed: Organization-Wide AI Capability
We develop future roles and AI capabilities along clearly defined development paths, supported by leadership, recognition, and communities. This is how individual applications become an AI-integrated organization.
For us, the journey is successful when AI becomes a productive third participant in the interaction between people and the organization – and thereby becomes part of your value creation.

FROM PRACTICE

Frequently Asked Questions and Answers

“We have introduced AI, but teams barely use it in their day-to-day work. What are we doing wrong?”

A target vision is often missing: What are we using AI for, and what does it mean for my work? Introducing AI is a transformation and requires the same level of care as any other transformation: clarity at the top, leaders who provide direction and psychological safety, and support that meets each individual where they are. Technology alone does not change people’s day-to-day work.

“Leaders feel uncertain: How do I lead through changes that I do not fully understand myself yet?”

No one needs to be an AI expert to lead credibly from the front. In the Leadership Lab, leaders work with AI themselves and develop their own perspective on it. The next step is to address the new leadership responsibility: bringing people and AI together as a team and clarifying which responsibilities are transferred to AI and which remain with people.

“What will this cost us – and when will it pay off?”

AI becomes expensive when organizations invest without a clear objective and the organization fails to follow through. We work with you to determine which use cases actually create value and which operating models make economic sense. We test them in short experiments before larger budgets are committed. We make progress measurable through adoption, quality, and business value.

“We already have an IT partner for the technical implementation. Where exactly does Breitenstein come in?”

This is precisely where technology projects typically reach their limits: with people, leadership, and the organization. We are happy to work in close collaboration with your technology partners, with a clear division of responsibilities: Whether your partner is internal or external, they build the solution. We ensure that your organization adopts it, uses it competently, and continues to develop it.
